Please let us know if your child plans to sign up for the Mixed Media Calligraphy class on Thursdays after school: 3:30 – 4:30 pm.
There is a $25 fee per semester, as the students will all be receiving their own calligraphy pen.
The teacher, Mrs. Teresa Staal-Cowley, MA, is a masters level traditionally educated artist.
This excellent class combines watercolor and acrylic paints with calligraphy.
Teresa also works as a child advocate in the courtroom, allowing students to express themselves through art. Through calligraphy, Teresa incorporates Bible verses into her art.
This class is great for anyone; however, if your child struggles with his or her handwriting, SBS typically recommends that students learn calligraphy in grade 4 and above.
It seems to be much more fun to make “beautiful” letters if the student is in an “Art” class!
Please let us know this weekend (by 9/11/23), if possible, if your student will be attending this class, so Teresa can shop for the materials needed.
