Talks with Mrs. Cox is an engaging series of student-led interviews, conducted by Sunrise Beach School’s very own student body!
Talks with Mrs. Cox: A Lively and Journalistic Journey for Sunrise Beach Students:
Every Quarter, our Sunrise Beach School team selects at least one of our students as the Talks with Mrs. Cox “Journalist”, to develop and conduct an interview with Mrs. Roxanne Cox, Sunrise Beach School Principal, Founder and Administrator. The student creates the interview, conducts it and posts it on the SBS website, as part of this special role.
Mrs. Cox is constantly in creative-mode for Sunrise Beach, innovating new ways to keep SBS on the fresh-edge of all disciplines. Students enjoy creating a peek into the world of Principal Cox, and being chosen as the Journalist to conduct the Quarterly Talks with Mrs. Cox interview is considered an honor.
These interviews are creative, engaging, fun, informative and a chance for students to practice their professional journalism, interviewing, and web-design skills.
A few Facts about our Talks with Mrs. Cox Journalists:
- Teachers submits their “Talks with Mrs. Cox” nominee at the end of each Quarter.
- Mrs. Cox selects the next Quarter’s Journalist, and the interview is conducted within the first month of the quarter.
- Criteria for selection of the next Journalist is based on the teacher’s own selection process.
- Each student creates and asks the same number of interview questions as their age. For example, a six-year-old will ask six interview questions. A 14-year-old will get to ask a much longer list of 14 questions.
